The Peacock School offers instruction in Highland Dance in the Madison area, using the SOBHD technique. Dancers begin by learning the fundamental skills and movements required for Highland Dance and then progress into the repertoire of Highland and National Dances. Instruction focuses on strong technique, precision, and, most importantly, enjoying the experience of dancing. Dancers are welcome to compete, perform, or dance recreationally.
Highland Dance instruction is open to anyone, regardless of skill level, ethnicity, body type, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity. All that’s required is a desire to dance and learn.
Currently, class times and locations are worked out based on the availability of the dancers. Class sizes are dependent on the number of dancers at a given level.
